There are cities in Belarus that are a thouthend years old. But there are no traces of history in some of them, or it’s deeply hidden in others. This collection tells of losses, but also about a resurrected heritage, of buildings totally rebuilt, but of some, which regained their original appiareance. Horrible destruction in the neibouring country makes us look again at the war images of Belarus, and the contempt for history in the post-war period is echoed in the contemporary losses of Belarusian heritage. The more precious those moments of preservation and the more urgent the help in the cases where there is still something left to save. Therefore, the collection not only contains a visual image of the damaged brick buildings of Belarus, but also an indication of the current state of the building.
Ужо тысячу гадоў на Беларусі стаяць гарады. Але ў некаторых з іх не знойдзеш слядоў даўніны. У іншых жа яна прыхаваная. Гэта калекцыя распавядае пра страты Беларусі, але і пра адроджаную спадчыну, пра тое, што пацярпела ад пераробак, але і пра тое, што вярнулася да свайго першапачатковага выгляду. Страшныя разбурэнні ў суседняй краіне прымушаюць наноў паглядзець на ваенныя фотаздымкі Беларусі, а знявага да гісторыі ў паваенны час адгукаецца ў сучасных стратах беларускай спадчыны. Тым больш цэннымі аказваюцца моманты захавання і тым тэрміновай дапамога ў тых выпадках, дзе яшчэ ёсць што ратаваць. Таму калекцыя не толькі утрымлівае візуальны вобраз пашкоджаных мураванак Беларусі, але і пазнаку таго, у якім стане будынак знаходзіцца зараз.
